HOW DOES IT WORK?

The Q Shield™ surface composition kills microbes by acting like a sword to effectively skewer and rupture the microbe’s outer cellular wall. The unique mechanism means after drying, it bonds securely to the surface which enables Q Shield™ to continue working long after application. Regular washing or cleaning of the surface will not remove the antimicrobial barrier.

 

The patented antimicrobial formula is made up of three parts:

1) A Silane Base

This anchors the molecule to the skin or surface using strong covalent bonds formed through hydrolysis.

WHAT IS Q-SHIELD™ MADE OF?

Q Shield™ contains highly purified water, ethyl alcohol (only 18%, and only to stop the product from freezing), fragrance, and the active ingredient an organoselenide quaternary compound, specifically: 3-Trimethoxy silyl propyl dimethyl octadecyl ammonium chloride, which is environmentally safe, and the molecule will break down into the common carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, and silicon dioxide (sand or quartz) from which it was derived.

Since Q Shield™ does not dissipate or leach, it cannot be absorbed by the organism or by you. As the membrane of the microbe is physically ruptured and electrocuted, Q-Shield is not consumed and does not dissipate, nothing is transferred. The antimicrobial action is not depleted and continues to control microbial growth over time with no loss of efficacy.

Q Shield™ addresses the two main ecological concerns associated with traditional leaching antimicrobials: bleeding harmful toxins into the environment, and you, and the generation of adaptive organisms (super bugs). The mode of action of Q Shield is physical and its molecular makeup alleviates these concerns.

WHY SHOULD YOU USE Q-SHIELD?

The Q Shield™ hand sanitiser uses the latest 5th generation of silicone polymers and proven Quaternary Ammonium Compounds to prevent and inhibit microbial infestation.

 

Current hand and surface sanitisers stop working as soon as they are dry, or they leave behind a polymer residue. The efficacy of Q Shield™ has been proven on both surface and skin to provide lasting protection*.

HOW TO USE Q-SHIELD™ 

SKIN CARE

Q-Shield™ is applied by spraying onto you hands and rubbing them together for a few seconds, until air dried.

It forms a microscopic coating on the skin and becomes bonded to it. You cannot see it or feel it, however once it is applied, it cannot be washed off. The only way it may come off the skin is by abrasion, or with dead skin as it naturally exfoliates.

Washing your hands will not diminish the antimicrobial formula, in fact, it is recommended that you continue to regularly wash your hands as this removes any dead microbes and exposes the surface of Q-Shield™ by removing any physical dirt.
